Tips:

  1. Salt-cured pork is salty. Thus, no need to add extra salt. Eating too much salty food is harmful to our body.
  2. Chicken stock and shiitake enhance the fresh taste of the soup. No need to add any MSG.

Steps

Peel wax gourd and remove seed. Wash and slice into thick pieces. Remove root of shiitake mushroom, and split into two parts. Cut salt-cured pork into thick slices; Add salt and pepper to the chicken stock.

Put the wax gourd slices, salt-cured pork slices, and shiitake mushrooms into a big bowl. Pour into the chicken stock.

Steam over high heat, for 20 minutes.

Topped with chopped chives before serving.
